IPL 7 Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians Report

16th match of IPL season 2014 has been played between Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians at Sharjah. Delhi won the match by 6 wickets. Mumbai put small target of 125 runs and Delhi achieved in 18.5 overs with 7 balls remaining. M Vijay (Delhi) declared man of the match for his 40 runs.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first. Skipper RG Sharma opened inning with AP Tare today. Experiment did not work as Sharma got run out scoring just 4 runs. AP Tare also departed scoring 8 runs. Other middle order batsmen got good start but could not stood in middle for long and lost wickets in regular interwals. KA Pollard played good inning of 33 runs and Mumbai managed to put 125 runs on board to achieved for Delhi.

Following target of 126 runs, Delhi got good start with Q de Kock and M Vijay. M Vijay played well and contributed 40 runs of 34 balls. JP Duminy and Kevin Pietersen took charge in hand and played sensible cricket in middle overs. JP Duminy lost his wicket scoring 19 runs. KD Karthik failed today and made 2 runs before lost his wicket to Malinga. Pieterson made 26 runs and remained not out till end. Delhi won the match by 6 wickets with 7 balls remaining.

Thus, Dehli got 2 points and Mumbai yet to open account in IPL 7 in 4 games played. M Vijay declared man of the match for his 40 runs.
