Putting into bat first by Mumbai, Chennai lost top four wickets just in 17 runs. After that CSK continued to lost the wickets in regular interwals and all out scoring just 97 runs in 16 overs. MS Dhoni only player played good inning of 36 unbeaten runs with highest score for CSK. Daniel Sams bowled well and took 3 wickets of just 16 runs. Riley Meredith and Kumar Kartikeya also took 2 wickets each for Mumbai as well.
Following small target of 98 runs, Mumbai also lost four wickets scoring 33 runs in 4.5 overs. Tilak Varma took the charge in hand and played good inning of 34 unbeaten runs and presented Mumbai win by 5 wickets in 14.5 overs. Mukesh Choudhary bowled well for CSK and took 3 wickets of 23 runs. Daniel Sams declared man of the match for his top three wickets of 16 runs.
