Qualifier Match 1 : MA Starc's 3 for followed by Venkatesh & Shreyas' fifties led Kolkata to win by 8 wkts and qualify for Finale
IPLT20 2024 1st Qualifier between Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match played on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Opting to bat first, Hyderabad with very poor batting performances managed to set 160 runs target for Kolkata to get. Rahul Tripathi with 35 balls 55 runs and Heinrich Klaasen with 21 balls 31 runs were top scorers for SRH. Mitchell Starc bowled well and took 3 wickets for Kolkata.
Following small target of 160 runs, Kolkata with Venkatesh Iyer's unbeaten 28 balls 51 runs and Shreyas Iyer's unbeaten 24 balls 58 runs made chase easily in 13.4 overs and won the match comprehensively by 8 wickets. Mitchell Starc declared man of the match for his important 3 wickets of 34 runs. Kolkata advanced for Finale and Hyderabad to play 2nd qualifier against winner of eliminator.
