Final Match : Dominant Kolkata with all round batting & bowling out-played Hyderabad by 8 wkts and won IPL title 3rd time in history
IPLT20 2024 Grand Finale match between Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad played on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Opting to bat first, Hyderabad with very poor batting performances managed to score 113 runs in 18.3 overs. Pat Cummins with 24 runs and Aiden Markram with 20 runs were top scorers for SRH. Andre Russell took 3 wickets of 19 runs.
Folowing very small total of 114 runs, Kolkata with confident batting made chase in 10.3 overs having lost 2 wickets and won the match comprehensively by 8 wickets with 57 balls remainings. Rahmanullah with 39 runs and Venkatesh's unbeaten 26 balls 52 runs were highlights for Kolkata inning. MA Starc and Harshit Rana also took 2 wickets for KKR as well. Mitchell Starc declared man of the match for his 2 important wicket of just 14 runs in 3 overs.
