VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 38th encounter between Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 01, 2017 at 4:00 pm. Opting to bat first, Royal Challengers managed to put good total of 162 runs in 20 overs. AB de Villiers played well for RCB and made 43 runs of 27 balls. Mumbai in reply with RG Sharma's anchoring inning chased the given target having lost 5 wicket with 1 ball remaining. Mumbai won by 5 wkts and RG Sharma declared man of the match for his 56 unbeaten runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first. Opting to bat first, Bangalore lost both opening batsmen Mandeep Singh and V Kohli in 6th over contributing 17 and 20 runs respectively. TM Head and AB de Villiers took the charge in hand and played good cricket initially. TM Head also departed scoring 12 runs but AB de Villiers played well and contributed 43 runs of 27 balls. In later overs KM Jadav 28 runs and P Negi 35 runs hepls RCB to put good total of 162 runs in 20 overs. MJ McClenghan bowled well for Mumbai and took 3 wicket spending 34 runs.

Following target of 163 runs, Mumbai lost PA Patel on very first ball of inning. N Rana joined with JC Buttler and played good cricket initially. Both played well and made 27 and 33 runs respectively before left the field. Skipper RG Sharma came in middle and took the charge in hand for Mumbai and playedsensible cricket. On other end KA Pollard and KH Pandya left the field ealry and KV Sharma joined with skiper and played supporting role well. He lost his wicket scoring 9 runs and Mumbai were in trouble. HH Pandya came in middle and support till end to skipper for a good win over Bangalore by 5 wickets.
