Having won the toss Chennai bated first and put 158 runs with MS Dhoni 39 runs and P Negi's quick 36 runs at the end of 20 overs. Mumbai inreply chased successfully the given target in 19.2 overs with 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets. Hardik Pandya smashed 21 runs of just 8 balls with 6 massive sixes in P Negi's overs and lifter possible win from Chennai at their home. HH Pandya declared man of the match for his super quick 21 runs and tooh 3 catched on the field.
Earlier, Chennai won the toss and opted to bat first. Having got firing start as usual, Chennai lost BB McCullum early scoring quick 23 runs of 11 balls. DR Smith also lost his wicket scoring 27 runs. Other top orders could played well but, in later overs skipper MS Dhoni with 39 runs and P Negi's quick 36 runs of just 17 balls Chennai put good totals of 158 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Following target of 159 runs, Mumbai got very good start with PA PAtel and LMP Simmons initially. Both added 84 runs before PA Patel lost his wicket contributing 45 runs. But suddenly, Mumbai lost another 2 wickets in quick successions and they were in trouble. In later overs AT Rayudu played good sensible and quick inning of 34 runs on 19 balls for Mumbai. In 19th over Hardik Pandya came in middle and smashed super fast 21 rus of just 8 balls and lifted possible win from Chennai and Mumbai registered well needed win over CSK by 6 wickets.
