Match 8 : S Dhawan's 86*, Prabhsimran's 60 runs & Nathan Ellis' 4 for 30 led Punjab to upset Rajasthan by 5 runs
IPLT20 2023 Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings match played on Wednesday, April 05, 2023 at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati.
Putting into bat first by Rajasthan, Punjab got good start with S dhawan and Prabhsimran initially. Both added 90 runs for 1st wicket before Prabhsimran got out scoring quick 34 balls 60 runs. Shikhar Dhawan played till end and contributed well 56 balls 86 unbeaten runs. Punjab managed to set huge target of 198 runs for Rajasthan to get. Jason Holder took 2 wickets for RR as well.
Following huge target of 198 runs, Rajasthan top 3 batsmen failed to bat well. Sanju Samson with 42 runs, Shimron Hetmyer with 18 balls 36 runs and Dhruv Jurel with 15 balls 32* runs tried their best but managed to score 192 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 5 runs. Nathan Ellis bowled well and took 4 wickets of 30 runs. He declared man of the match.
