Match 38 : Stoinis & Mayer's quick fifties powered Lucknow to a 2nd largest score of 257 runs and crushed Punjab by huge 57 runs
IPLT20 2023 Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants match played on Friday, April 28, 2023 at PCA IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh.
Putting into bat first by Punjab, Lucknow with wonderful batting performances made 2nd larget total of IPL all-times 257/5 runs in 20 overs. Kyle Mayers with 24 balls 54 runs, Ayush Badoni with 24 balls 43 runs, Marcus Stoinis with 40 balls 72 runs and Nicholas Pooran with 19 balls 45 runs were highlights of Lucknow inning. Kagiso Rabada was expensive but took 2 wickets for Punjab as well.
Following very huge target of 258 runs, Punjab lost opening batsmen early. Atharva Taide with 36 balls 66 runs, Sikandar Raza with 22 balls 36 runs and Jitesh Sharma's firing 10 balls 24 runs tried level best but managed to score 201 runs and lost the match by 56 runs. Yash Thakur bowled well and took 4 wickets of 37 runs. Naveen-ul-Haq also took 3 wikets. Marcus Stoinis declared man of the match for his quick 72 runs and 1 wicket.
