VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 16th encounter between Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Lions Rajkot at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 16, 2017 at 4:00 pm. Putting into bat first by Mumbai, Lions managed to put good total of 176 runs in 20 overs. BB McCullum played well and made 64 runs of 44 balls. KD KArthik also contributed well 48* runs of 26 balls. Mumbai in reply with N Rana's excellent 53 and RG Sharma's 40* runs won the match by 6 wickets. N Rana declared man of the match for his consistent batting and contributing 53 runs.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to field and let Gujarat Lions to set target. Putting into bat first by Mumbai, Gujarat could not made batter start and lost DR Smith for a duck. SK Raina joined with BB McCullum and took the charge in hand for Gujarat. Both played sensible cricket and added 80 runs before Raina lost his wicket scoring 28 runs. McCullum played good inning of 64 runs of 44 balls before bowled by SL Malinga. Middle order batsman cum wicketkeeper KD Karthik played well and contributed 48* runs of 26 balls and put Gujarat Lions on good total of 176 runs in 20 overs.

Following target of 177 runs, Mumbai also failed to got good start and PA Patel lost his wicket without scoring. In form man N Rana joined with JC Buttler and took the charge in hand for Mumbai. He played once again superb inning for MI and smashed his 3rd IPL fifty - 2nd of this season and contributed 53 runs of 36 balls before lost his wicket. JC Buttler also followed him scoring 26 runs. RG Sharma and previous match man of the match candidate KA Pollard came in middle and played good cricket for Mumbai. Both played till and and presented Mumbai won by 6 wickets.
