6th match of ICC t20 Worldcup 2026 played between Sri Lanka vs Ireland at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Sunday, February 08, 2026.
Putting into bat first by Ireland, Sri Lanka with Kusal Mendis' unbeaten 56 runs and Kamindu Mendis' quick 19 balls 44 runs set good target of 164 runs for Ireland to get. Barry McCarthy and George Dockrell shared 2 wickets each for Ireland.
Following 164 runs target, Ireland managed to score 143 runs in 19.5 overs and lost the match by 20 runs. Harry Tector with 40 runs and Ross Adair with 34 runs were top scorers for Ireland. Theekshana and Hasaranga bowled well and shared 3 wickets each. Pathirana also took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka. Kamindu Mendis declared man of the match for his quick 19 balls 44 runs inning.
