1st T20i match of five twenty20 match series between India vs New Zealand at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Putting into bat first by New Zealand, India with quick batting performances set huge target of 239 runs for New Zealand to get. Abhishek smashed 35 balls 84 runs. Suryakumar's 22 balls 32, Hardik's 16 balls 25 and Rinku Singh's 20 balls 44 runs were other top scorers for India. Jacob Duffy and Kyle Jamieson shared 2 wickets each for New Zealand.
Following huge target of 239 runs, New Zealand managed to score 190/7 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by huge margins of 48 runs. Glenn Phillips's smashed 40 balls 78 runs and Mark Chapman contributed well 24 balls 39 runs for NZ. Varun and Shivam shared 2 wickets for India as well. Abhishek Sharma declared man of the match for his quick 35 balls 84 runs superb inning. India led 5-match series 1-0.
