1st ODI : Harshit Rana's 2 wkts and 29 runs with Virat's 93 runs and Shubman's 56 runs led India to upset New Zealand by 4 wickets

1st ODI match of three odi match series between India vs New Zealand at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Putting into bat first by India, New Zealand got good start with Conway and Nicholls initially. Both played well and added 126 runs for 1st wickets before Nicholls got out scoring well 62 runs. Conway also contributed well 56 runs. Daryl Mitchell came in middle and played good quick inning of 71 balls 84 runs and helps New Zealand to set good target of 301 runs for India to get. Mhd Siraj, Harshit and MP Krishna shared 2 wickets each for India as well.

Following huge target of 301 runs, India with Shubman's 56, Shreyas Iyer's 49 and Virat Kohli's superb 93 runs made chse in 49 overs and won the match by 4 wickets. Kyle Jamieson bowled well for New Zealand and took 4 wickets of 41 runs. Virat Kohli declared man of the match for his superb 93 runs inning. India led 3-match series 1-0 as well.
