Dhoni's 44 balls 79* runs provides great excitement but CSK short by 4 runs in last ball finished thriller at Mohali, CH Gayle was hero of KXIP who made 33 balls 63 runs

12th match of IPL 2018 played between Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings 15th April, 2018 at PCA Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh at 8:00 pm IST. Putting into bat first by Chennai, Punjab got firing start with KL Rahul and CH Gayle. Both went after CSK bowlers and added 96 runs of just 8 overs before KL Rahul got out scoring 37 runs. CH Gayle continued and contributed well 63 runs of just 33 balls. Punajb put huge total of 197 runs in 20 overs. SN Thakur and Imran Tahir took 2 wickets each for Chennai. Chennai in reply score 193 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 4 runs. Dhoni played superb inning of 79* of 44 balls but failed to gave his team win. CH Gayle declared man of the for his 63 runs.

Chennai in reply lost opening batsmen early but AT Rayudu and MS Dhoni took match in interesting position with excellent batting. Rayudu infortunately got run out scoring 49 runs and MS Dhoni fought with level best batting and contributed unbeaten 79 runs of 44 balls but not enough to cross KXIP total and short by just 4 runs in heatr beating last ball finished match at Mohali. Punjab won the match by 4 runs and gain 2 important points in points tally of IPL2018.
