B Kumar's 3-for & Dhawan-Karthik's 50s led India to knees down New Zealand by 6 wkts and level 3-match series 1-1

2nd one-day international match of 3-match series between India and New Zealand has been played at MCA Stadium, Pune today. Opting to bat first, New Zealand top orders failed to make batter start but lower orders sensible batting helps to put decent score of 230 runs in 50 overs. B Kumar bowled well and took 3 wickets for India. India needs 231 runs to win. India in reply made chase easily with Dhawan and Karthik's fifties and won the match by 6 wkts. Bhuvneshwar Kumar declared man of the match for his 3 wickets. India level 3-match series 1-1 as well.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Opting to bat first, New Zealand lost top 3 wickets in 7 overs on team score 27 runs. Guptill (11), KS Willimson (3) and C Munro (10) were top 3 batsmen out by Indian pace bowlers. Ross Taylor also made his way scoring 21 runs and New Zealand wee in trouble. Last match man of the match Latham got good start but fall scoring 38 runs bowled by Axar Patel. HM Nicholls and C de Grandhomme came in middle and took the charge in hand for Kiwis as well. Both played well and contributed 42 and 41 runs respectively. New Zealand managed to put good total of 230 runs in 50 overs with lower orders good batting. Indian pace bowlers B Kumar (3 wkts) and JJ Bumarah (2 wkts) bowled well and helps India to restricts New Zealand to 230 runs.

Following target of 231 runs, India lost RG Sharma early scoring just 7 runs. Skipper Kohli and S Dhawan bated well initially but Kohli got out scoring 29 runs. KD Karthik joined with Dhawan and took the charge in hand for India as well. Both played well and smashed fifties as well. S dhawan made 68 runs and Karthik remained not out scoring 64 runs. India made chase easily in 46 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. India level 3-match series as well. B Kumar declared man of the match for his 3 wickets.
