25th Match of ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 played between England vs Sri Lanka at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Opting to bat first, England with very poor batting perofrmances all out in 33.2 overs having score just 156 runs. Ben Stokes with 43 runs was top scorer for England. Lahiru Kumara with 3 wickets and Kasun Rajitha & Angelo Mathews with 2 wickets each were top bowlers for Sri Lanka as well.
Following small target of 157 runs, Sri Lanka made chase easily in 25.4 overs and won the match comprehensively by 8 wickets with 146 balls remaining. Pathum Nissanka with unbeaten 77 runs and Sadeera Samarawickrama with 65 runs were top scorers for Sri Lanka. Lahiru Kumara declared man of the match for his imporaten 3 wickets.
