1st Test match of the series between England and India started today at Trent Bridge Stadium, Nottingham. India won the toss and decided to bat first. At one one stage India were 107 for lost of 3 wickets but, Murali Vijay played superb inning of 122* runs and put India in comfort zone. Skipper MS Dhoni also played sensible cricket in middle and contributed 50* runs at the end of Day -1. At stump India were 259/4 in 1st Inning.

1st Test Day 2 started with India inning. India carried on with 259/4 on 1st day and ended 1st inning on 457 runs. MS Dhoni made valuable 82 runs before he got run out. After Dhoni India lost wickets in quick successions but, B Kumar (58) runs and Mohammed Shami (51) played superb knock for India and put 457 runs on board in 1st inning. England in later part of day started their 1st inning and ended with 40/1 as stump on Day 2.

3rd day of Nottingham test ware in name of India's seamers as picked-up Englands 9 wickets and England trailed by 105 with 1 wicket remaining. After lunch Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets and in later season Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked-up 4 wickets. Mohammed shami also got 1 wicket today. At stump England were 352/9 on day 3.

On 4th day Jow Root and James Anderson played splendid innings and added record 198 runs for final wicket helped England to 39 runs lead over India's 1st inning Totals. Root made superb 154* runs and Anderson contributed valuable 81 runs befor got out. India lost Dhawan scoring 29 runs but, M Vijay and CA Pujara madetheir 50s before lost their wickets. At Stump India were 167/3 and V Kohli (8*) and AM Rahane (18*) to bat on 5th day...

On 5th day India continued with 4th day score 167/3 and bated till end of 5th day and managed to score 391/9. 1st test match ended in draw. STR Binny played superb inning of 78 runs good supported by B Kumar, who made consecutive 3rd 50s in test innings. B Kumar contributed valuable 63* runs.
James Anderson (England) declared man of the match for his 4 wkts in 2 innings and contributing 81 runs.
