1st Match - Knight Riders with Shadab Khan's tight bowling and McCullum & Munro's firing bating crush Stars by 9 wickets

 

Oprning match of CPLT20 2017 has been played today beteween Knight Riders and St Lucia Stars today. Putting into bat first by Trinbago Knight Riders, Lucia Stars managed to put 132 runs in 20 overs. Trinbago Knight Riders in relpy made easy chase with BB McCullum (58* of 27 balls) and C Munro's (66* of 39 balls) firing batting won the match by 9 wickets in 10.4 overs. Shadab Khan declared man of the match for his tight bowling spell 4-0-15-2.

Earlier, Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first. St Lucia Stars' most batsmen failed to stood in middle for long and lost wickets in regular interwals. A Fletcher 26 and K Mayers 23 runs were top scorers for Stars. St Lucia Stars managed to put 132 runs in 20 overs. Shadab Khan bowled well for Knight Riders and picked 2 wickets of just 15 runs in his 4 overs. DJ Bravo also took 2 wickets of 23 runs.

Following target of 133 runs, Knight Riders lost Sunil Narine early for a duck. C Munro joined with BB McCullum and played firing inning of 66 runs just in 39 balls. At other end BB McCullum also played as per his reputation and made quick 58 runs of just 27 balls with seven massive sixes and 2 fours. Both remained unbeaten and presented Knight Riders cemprehensive win by huge margins of 9 wickets with 56 balls remaining.
