1st oneday international match of three odi match series played between India vs Australia at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Friday, March 17, 2023.

Putting into bat first by India, Australia after losing Travis Head early, Mitchell Marsh and Steven Smith's sensible batting gave some strong start initially. Steven Smith gone for 22 runs and Mitchell Marsh played wonderful quick inning of 65 balls 81 runs with 10 fours and massive sixes. Other middle and lower order batsmen faild to kept the momentum on and lost wickets in regular interwals. Australia team all out in 35.4 overs having score 188 runs. Mohammed Shami and Mhd Siraj took 3 wickets each for India.

Following small target of 189 runs, India were in trouble with 83/5 in 20th overs. KL Rahul and RA Jadeja took the charge in hand and turn match in India's favor and registered superb win by 5 wickets. Both added 108* runs for sixth wicket. KL Rahul made wonderful 75* runs and RA Jadeja contributed well 45* runs for India. RA Jadeja declared man of the match for his match winning 45* runs inning & 2 wkts. India led 3-match series 1-0 as well.
