The Asia Cup 2025 in twenty20 format is all scheduled to take place in United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, 2025. The 17th edition of Asiacup will be played in the T20 format between the Eight Asian teams.
Eight teams from the continent will be participating in the Asian multi-nation tournament. Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, UAE and Oman have qualified for the tournament. These eight teams will be split into two groups A & B for the earlier stage, followed by a Super Four stage, and finally, the grand Finale of Asia Cup 2025.
Asia Cup t20 2025 begins with Afghanistan vs Hong Kong match on 9th September, 2025 at Abu Dhabi. India start Asia Cup campaign on 10th September with host UAE team at Dubai. India play with Pakistan on 14th September at Dubai. India vs Oman match will be played on 19th September at Abu Dhabi.
India are the defending champions of Asia Cup in the ODI format, having beaten Sri Lanka in the final of the previous edition in 2023. Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup when it was last played in the T20 format in 2022 after they beat Pakistan in the final.
Team India won Asia Cup maximum 8 times in the year 1984, 1988, 1990, 1995, 2010, 2016, 2018 and 2023. Sri Lanka won this cup for 6 times 1986, 1997, 2004, 2008, 2014 and 2022. Pakistan won this tournament two times in 2000 and 2012.
