Match 9 : Tanzid Hasan's fifty followed by Nasum Ahmed's 2 for 11 helps Bangladesh to upset Afghanistan by 8 runs in tight finished match
9th Group Stage match of Asia Cup T20 2025 between Group B teams : Afghanistan vs Bangladesh at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Opting to bat first, Bangladesh with opening batsmen Tanzid Hasan's 30 runs and Tanzid Hasan's 31 balls 52 runs got good start. Other batsmen got good start but failed to stood in middle for long and Bangladesh set good defending target of 155 runs for Afghanistan to get. Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad shared 2 wickets each for Afghanistan.
Following 155 runs, Afghnistan managed to score 146 runs in 20 voers and lost the match by 8 runs margin. Rahmanullah Gurbaz 35 runs, Azmatullah Omarzai 30 runs and Rashid Khan's 11 balls 20 runs were top scorers for Afghanidtan. M Rahman took 3 wickets. Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain shared 2 wickets each for Bangladesh. Nasum Ahmed declared man of the match for his 2 wickets of 11 runs.
