Virat Kohli and RG Sharma's 100 tons powered India to crush Sri Lanka by huge 168 runs and led 5-match series 4-0

4th one-day international match of five ODI match series between Sri Lanka and India played on 31st August 2017 at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Opting to bat first, India with excellent batting performances put huge score of 375/5 runs in 50 overs. Skipper Virat Kohli and RG Sharma smashed 100 tons for India. MK Pandey 50* and MD Dhoni with 49* runs also contributed well for India. Sri Lanka in reply all out scoring 207 runs and lost the match by huge margins of 168 runs. V Kohli declared man of the match for his excellent hundred with 131 runs of 96 balls.

Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Opting to bat first, India could not made batter start and lost S Dhawan early scoring just 4 runs. Skipper V Kohli joined with RG Sharma and played superb cricket for India. Both added 219 runs for 2nd wickets and smashed hundreds as well. Kohli made his 29th ton in One-day cricket and contributed well 131 runs of 96 balls before left the field of SL Malinga. Malinga also cross land mark of his 300th wicket in one-day cricket as well. RG Sharma played back to back excellent century inning in consecutive ODIs and smashed 104 runs in 88 balls before got out. In later overs Manish Panday with 50* and MS Dhoni with 49* runs helps India to put huge total of 375/5 runs in 50 overs. AD Mathews bowled well for Sri Lanka and took 2 wickets in his 6 overs spending 24 runs and bowled two maiden overs as well.

Following huge target of 376 runs, Sri Lanka batsmen once again failed to bat well and lost their wickets in regalar interwals. Only AD Mathews 70 runs and Sriwardana 39 runs were good innings for Sri Lanka and all team all out scoring 207 runs in 42.4 overs. Host team Sri Lanka lost the match by huge margins of 168 runs and lost the 5-match series by 4-0 as well.
