40th match of ICC t20 Worldcup 2024 played between West Indies vs Afghanistan at Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Putting into bat first by Afghanistan, West Indies with wonderful batting performances set huge target of 219 runs for Afghanistan to get. Johnson Charles with 27 balls 43 runs and Nicholas Pooran with quick 53 balls 98 runs were top scorers for West Indies.
Following huge arget of 219 runs, Afghanistan team all out scoring 114 runs in 16.2 overs and lost the match by huge margins of 104 runs. Ibrahim Zadran with 38 runs was top scorer for Afghanistan. Obed McCoy took 3 wickets of 14 runs. Gudakesh Motie and Akeal Hosein aosl picked up 2 wickets each. Nicholas Pooran declared man of the match for his superb 98 runs.
