Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka with very poor batting performances all out scoring just 77 runs in 19.1 overs. Kusal Mendis with 19 runs was top scorer for Sri Lanka. Anrich Nortje bowled very well and took 4 wickets of just 7 runs in his 4 overs. Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets each for SA as well.
Following small target of 78 runs, South Africa with sensible batting made given chase in 16.2 overs and won the match comprehensively by 6 wickets. Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka. Anrich Nortje declared man of the match for his super bowling spell 4-0-7-4.
