4th Match of ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 between South Africa vs Sri Lanka at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Saturday, October 07, 2023.
Putting into bat first by Sri Lanka, South Africa with explosive batting performances score highest ever ICC Worldcup inning score of 428/5 runs in 50 overs. Quinton de Kock's 84 balls 100 runs, Rassie van der Dussen's 108 runs and Aiden Markram's fastest 49 balls century with 106 runs were highlights of South African inning. Heinrich Klaasen with 20 balls 32 runs and David Miller's 21 balls 39 runs also added more excitement as well.
Following huge target of 429 runs, Sri Lanka fought hard with Kusal Mendis' 42 balls 76 runs, Charith Asalanka's 79 runs and Dasun Shanaka's 68 runs but managed to score 326 runs and lost the match by huge margins of 102 runs. Gerald Coetzee took 3 wickets for South Africa. Aiden Markram declared man of the match for his 49 balls century with 106 runs.
