Putting into bat first by New Zealand, Australia with wonderful batting performances set huge target of 389 runs for New Zealand to get. David Warner's 65 balls 81 runs, Travis Head's quick 67 balls 109 runs Glenn Maxwell's firing 24 balls 41 runs and Pat Cummins's super quick 14 balls 37 runs were highlights of Australia inning. Glenn Phillips bowled well and took 3 wickets of just 37 runs. Trent Boult also picked up 3 wickets conceding 77 runs.

Following huge target of 389 runs, New Zealand with Rachin Ravindra's 116 runs, Daryl Mitchell's 54 runs and James Neesham's 58 runs tried level best but managed to score 383 runs in 50 overs and lost the last ball finished high scoring match by 5 runs. Adam Zampa took 3 wickets for Australia. Travis Head declared man of the match foe his 109 runs.
