Following just 76 runs target, Australia made easy chase in 18.5 overs having lost 1 wicket and won the match by 9 wickets. Travis Head smashed unbeaten 49 runs for Australia. Nathan Lyon declarec player of the match for his 11 wickets in the match. India still led 4-match test series 2-1 as well.

Resume batting on 456/4, Australia team all out scoring 197 runs in 1st inning. R Ashwin and Umesh Yadav took 3 wickets each for India. Australian got 88 runs lead over India in 1st inning. Batting in 2nd inning, .India with CA Pujara's sensible 59 runs managed to score 163 runs. Australia with 88 runs lead needs 76 runs to win the match. Nathan Lyon with 8 wickets was top bowler for Australia.
