1st ODI match of 5 match series between India and West Indies has been played at Nehru Stadium, Kochi. West Indies with superb batting performances of D Ramdin 61 runs and MN Samuels 126* runs won the match by huge margin of 124 runs.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to firld first. West Indies stated inning with DR Smith and DJ Bravo. DR Smith played good inning of 46 runs before lost his wicket to RA Jadeja. Middle order batsmen MN Samuels and Denesh Ramdin played superb cricket and put West Indies on very huge score of 321 runs at the end of 50 overs. D Ramdin made 61 runs and MN Samuels made huge contribution of unbeaten 126 runs of 116 balls.
Following huge traget of 322 runs, India made good start initialy but, AM Rahane unfortunately got run out scoring 24 runs. S Dhawan played goos inning of 68 runs but, other top and middle order batsmen failed to stood in middle for long and lost their wickets in regular interwals. At last India team all out scoring 197 runs in 41 overs and lost the match by 124 runs.
MN Samuels (West Indies) declared man of the match for his 126* runs and picked up 2 wickets.
