South African cricketer Jacques Kallis has appointed as mentor and batting consultant of Kolkata Knight Riders for the coming IPL Season 8. Kallis has been useful batting all-rounder for the last 4 years for Kolkata franchise. During these 4 years KKR franchise won two IPL titles (2012 and 2014). Kolkata also finished with runners-up in the Champions League T20 in 2014.
With Kallis as mentor and batting consultant, Kolkata batsmen will have an opportunity to get useful batting tips and gain confidence to bat in different playing conditions. As a All-rounder JH Kallis played 98 matches in IPL career with 2427 runs and picked-up 65 wickets. He retired from international cricket with 25,529 runs, 577 wickets and 336 catches to his name.
"KKR has been my Indian family for the last four years. I have built fantastic relationships with the management and the players and have been very fortunate to assist KKR in winning two IPL Championships," Kallis said in a media release, issued by the franchise.
