Day 4

Ravindra Jadeja's five for helps India to crush Sri Lanka by innings and 53 runs, India led the 3-match series 2-0

Sri Lanka resume 4th day play with 209/2 and all out scoring 386 runs in 2nd inning. Ravindra Jadeja's excellent bowling made difficult for Sri Lankan batsmen to stood in middle for long. FDM Karunaratne completed his hundred and made very well 141 runs before got out by Jadeja. Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets and presented India comprehensive win by inning and 53 runs on 4th day of 2nd Test at Colombo. Jadeja declared man of the match for his 7 wickets in match and contributing 70* runs with bat as well.

Day 3

Karunaratne (92*) and BKG Mendis (110) faught well after India forced Sri Lanka to follow on after collepsed in 183

Sri Lanka resume 3rd day's play with 50/2 and all out scoring 183 runs in 1st inning. R Ashwin and Jadeja's killer bowling made difficult for Sri Lankan batsmen to stood in middle for long. Ashwin took 5 wickets and Jadeje took 2 wickets. Dickwell played well for Lanka and made well 51 runs. India forced Sri Lanka to follow on and home team came in to bat again having 439 runs debt of 1st inning total.

Sri Lanka once again failed to made batter start and lost Upul Tharanga scorng just 2 runs. FDM Karunaratne and BKG Mendis took the charge in hand for Lanka and played excellent cricket for Sri Lanka. Both added 191 runs for the 2nd wicket before Mendis got out of Pandya scoring very well 110 runs. Karunaratne also played well and still in middle with 92 runs. Sri Lanka were 209/2 at stumps day-3. Sri Lanka trail by 230 runs with 8 wickets remaining.

Day 2

Jadeja's 70* with Ashwin & WP Saha's fifties powered India to put huge 1st innings total of 622 at Colombo test

India resume 2nd day's play with 344/3 and managed to put huge 1st inning total of 622 and declare inning after having lost 9 wickets. Pujara and Rahane continued batting in the morning and left the field scoring 133 and 132 runs respectively. Lower and middle orders performed well for India and put India in control after putting 622 runs. R Ashwin 54, WP Saha 67 and RA Jadeja's unbeaten 70 runs were big attractions for the 2nd day. India declared inning later evening and invited Sri Lanka to bat.

Sri Lanka could not made batter start and lost Upul Tharanga for a duck. Another opening batsman FDM Karunaratne also followed him scoring 25 runs and put Sri Lanka in trouble. BKG Mendis and skipper LD Chandimal came in middle and took the charge in hand for Lanka and played till end of the day. Sri Lanka were 50/2 at stumps day-2.

Day 1

Pujara and Rahane's century knocks put India on front foot as 344/3 at stumps day-1 at Colombo test

2nd Test match of three match series between Sri Lanka and India is being played during 3rd August to 7th August 2017 at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo. Opting to ba first, India with good sensible batting of CA Pujara and AM Rahane managed to put 344/3 runs at stumps day1. Both smashed hundred and still in middle to resume 2nd day's play as Colombo.

Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bat first. India made one change and recall KL Rahul in place of Abhinav Mukund. India made good start with S Dhawan and KL Rahul initially. Both added 56 runs for 1st wicket before Dhawan got out scoring 35 runs of 37 balls. KL Rahul also left the field contributing well 57 runs before unfortunately got run out in come back game. Skipper Virat Kohli also went early scoring 13 runs. CA Pujara and AM Rahane took the charge in hand for India and played through till end of day and put India on good total of 344/3 at stumps day-1. Both Pujara and Rahane smashed hundreds and stiil in middle to carry on batting tomorrow morning. Pujara made 128* and Rahane contributed 103* runs.
