IPL 7 Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians Report

40th match of IPL season 7 has been played between Kolkata Knigtt Riders and Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens Stadium, Kolkata. Kolkata with the help of RV Uthappa's superb batting from top won the match by 6 wickets over Mumbai at home. RV Uthappa (Kolkata) declared man of the match for his 80 runs of 52 balls.

Earlier, Kolkata won the toss and decided to field first. Mumbai putting into bat first, could not made batter start and lost LMP Simmons (12) and CM Gautam (8) early. AT Rayudu and skipper RG Sharma took the charge and played sensible innings for Mumbai. Rayudu made 33 runs and skipper Rohit Sharma contributed 51 runs. Other middle and lower order could not perform well and Mumbai managed to put 141 runs at the end of 20 overs for Kolkata.

Following target of 142 runs, Kolkata made sound start with RV Uthappa and skipper Gambhir well. Both added 50 runs before Gambhir lost his wicket of Harbhajan Singh. But, RV Uthappa took the charge and played match winning inning of 80 runs of just 52 balls. Kolkata registered well needed win in 18.4 overs with 4 wickets.

Thus, Kolkata got 2 points and Mumbai dis appointed with 0 points. RV Uthappa declared man of the match for his superb inning of 80 runs.
