Total 140 players including 96 Indian players and 44 overseas players were retained during the window season by the VIVO IPL franchises for the 2017 VIVO IPL season10.
IPL trading window season for 2017 edition has been closed on Dec 15, 2016. During window season, IPL franchises had right to extend the player contracts on existing terms or released the players for VIVO IPL season 2017. At the end of trading window season, IPL2017 franchises have retained their best and promising players to continued playing in IPL season 10 and released few players from their respective squad. Released players will have an opportunity to put their names up for the player auction for the 10th IPL season.
IPL franchises have a total salary cap of Rs 66 Crores for the VIVO IPL 2017 season. The salaries of the players retained will be deducted from this amount.
Total 140 cricketers including 44 overseas players have been retained by the 2017 VIVO IPL franchises.
