5th and last One day International of 5 ODI series between India and Sri Lanka has been played at Ranchi today. India once again with great all round performances won 5th consecutive match of 5 math ODI series against Sri Lanka. Indian skipper played superb inning of 139* runs and gave India win when 8 ball remainings. Sri Lanka skipper also played good innig of 139* runs and helped Sri Lanka to et good target for India. He declared man of the match for his brave efforts. Indian skupper V Kohli declared Man of the series for his consistent performances through out the series.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first and decided to set traget for India. Sri Lanka made quick start but lost both openers in 6 overs with team total 45 runs. Middle order batsmen Jayawardene 32 runs and HDRL Thirimanne 52 runs played good innings in middle overs but, skipper AD Mathews played remarkable inning of 139* runs with 10 massive sixes and 6 fantastic fours in later overs. Sri Lanka managed to put huge total of 286 runs at the end of 50 overs.
Following huge target of 287 runs, India lost both openers AM Rahane (2) and last match hero RG Sharma (9) very early. But, AT Rayudu and skipper V Kohli took charge on hand and played superb innings for India. AT Rayudu once again unfortunately got runs out scoring 59 runs but skipper remained not out scoring 139* runs and gave India comprehensive win over Sri Lanka when 8 ball remained to bowl. India won 5-match series 5-0 as well.
AD Mathews (Sri Lanka) declared man of the match for his superb inning of 139* runs. Virat Kohli declared man of the series for his consistence performances in series.
Series - India won the 5-match ODI series 5-0.
