UAE final 15 man squad for 2015 ICC Worldcup to be played to Australia and New Zealand in February. Mohammad Tauqir will be captain and Khurram Khan vice captain of UAE for the 2015 World Cup.
The Emirates Cricket Board report on the ICC site said the board viewed Dubai-born Tauqir's appointment as an "opportunity to promote and showcase Emirati leadership and playing skills on the international sporting stage, and at the same time raise the profile of the sport within the Emirati community".
43 years old Tauqir, is a middle-order batsman and offspinner who has played 32 List A games, including 5 ODIs, in a 10-year career. He has taken 34 wickets in these games, at 29.05, and scored 223 runs at 11.73.
UAE is in Group B along with Ireland, Pakistan, India, South Africa, Zimbabwe and West Indies. Team UAE will start its World Cup campaign against Zimbabwe in their opening game at the Saxton Oval, Nelson on February 19.
