ICC WorldT20 2016 Match Schedule Announced
Schedule of ICC World Twenty20 2016

The most awaiting tournament, ICC WorldT20 2016 to be played at 8 venues of India from March 8 to April 03, 2016. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the groups and schedule of the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016. Mumbai and New Delhi to host semi-finals while Kolkata to host final match.

A total of 35 matches, will be played in the 27-day tournament in Nagpur, Mohali, Bangalore, Chennai, Dharamsala, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. There is a reserve day for the final match.

Total prize money of the tournament will be $5.6 million, which is an 86 per cent increase from the 2014 tournament. We have witnessed five different winners in five times. India, Pakistan, England, West Indies and Sri Lanka have won icc worldt20 trophy once.

According to the tournament format, eight teams in two groups of four, will feature in the first round matches with the group winners joining eight teams in the Super 10 stage. The top two teams from both the Super 10 Groups will then qualify for the semi-finals.

First Round Teams :
Bangladesh, Netherlands, Ireland, debutant Oman (Group A)
Zimbabwe, Scotland, Hong Kong and Afghanistan (Group B)

First Round's winners from Group A and Group B will join alongside Super 10 Stage teams: Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and India.

Super 10 Group Teams :
Group 1 – Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies, England and winner Group B (Q1B)
Group 2 – India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and winner Group A (Q1A)

India will play 1st tournament match in Nagpur against New Zealand on 15 March, while it will go head to head with traditional rival Pakistan in Dharamsala on 19 March.
